Discover a New World of Music with Lana
​Soaring Ballerina is the spell‑binding new live album from Icelandic composer‑pianist Lana Sigurdsson, recorded with Reykjavík’s trail‑blazing CAPUT Ensemble under the baton (and clarinet) of its co‑founder Guðni Franzson. Released on 28 March 2025, the nine‑track cycle draws its narrative spark from a whimsical French fairy tale in which a dancer discovers she can defy gravity, floating between the worlds of dream and daylight.
In December 2023, I had the pleasure of composing a Christmas song that really captures the spirit of the holiday season. The song features the beautiful voice of Ása Svanildur Ægisdóttir and my own piano playing. Working with Halldór Gunnarsson, we created a warm and inviting fireplace song that is perfect for the eve before Christmas. I'm excited to share this song and to continue creating music that brings people together.
